Lentil masala dahl with tofu ‘chicken’ 🥘 dahl was such a uni classsic of mine last year (but could never rival the queen of dahl @larawhitmore 😎) as it is such an easy, cheap & filling meal to make 🌱 I used to just make a huuuge batch and have the leftovers for lunches 📚 pimped it uuuup this time with some tofu ‘chicken’ which is lit torn bits of tofu fried in oil with salt and spices – sooo delish 🤤🤤

🌱 dahl masala recipe with tofu ‘chicken’ 🌱 serves 1
• 60g red lentils • 1/2 onion, chopped • 3 tomatoes, chopped • 1/2 red chilli, chopped • 200ml veg stock • 100ml coconut milk (or any dairy free milk) • 1/4tsp turmeric • 1/2tsp garam masala • 1/2 coriander • 1/2tsp cinnamon • 1/4tsp smoked paprika • 1/4tsp salt • 2 garlic cloves, chopped •

FOR THE TOFU ‘CHICKEN’ 🍗 • 1/4 block firm tofu • 1/4tsp salt • 1 tsp soy • 1/2tsp garam masala •

– fry your onions, chilli, spices and garlic in some oil in a shallow pan till fragrant, then add in your tomatoes, lentils, and veg stock, simmer for 10 mins
– now add in the coconut milk and simmer for a further 10 mins till the lentils are cooked
– meanwhile, make the tofu chicken by tearing up the tofu into chunks and frying in some oil till golden, then add in the soy, salt and garam masala and serve 😎
